Laura

Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, MSW

Laura is a dedicated Social Worker with over ten years’ experience working therapeutically with individuals and families impacted by trauma. Laura has primarily focussed her work in the areas of supporting clients impacted by interpersonal violence and abuse, including childhood trauma, domestic and family violence and sexual assault. Laura is calm, warm and compassionate in her approach, prioritising safety and collaboration in the therapeutic relationship as a platform upon which it is possible to identify, work through and heal from the deep impacts of traumatic past experiences. Laura views clients as the experts in their own lives, with the capacity to heal from adverse experiences when given the safety and resourcing needed to do so. 

Alongside extensive knowledge and skills gained through experience providing therapy to clients impacted by a range of experiences, Laura is trained in a number of evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). 

Laura is a graduate of the University of Sydney, holding a Masters in Social Work, and is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker.
